Our Team
- Children's National employs 1,602 nurses and 720 physicians (including faculty and clinical associates).
- At Children's National, we provide pediatric training to residents, fellows and other graduate trainees each year.
- More than 3006 hours of service were donated by 331 volunteers.
Our Research
We’re working on 1,500+ active clinical research projects at Children's National.
More than 77% of Children's National research funding comes from federal agencies, including 70% from the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Education and Training
Children's National graduate medical education (GME) office provided clinical training to 120 pediatric residents, 8 dentistry residents, 12 child neurology residents and 154 fellows, in addition to providing core pediatric training to 892 rotating GME trainees from the region's hospitals.
Every year, pediatric training is provided for approximately:
- 275 third-year medical students from George Washington University (GW)
- 142 third-year medical students from Howard University
- 292 fourth-year medical students from GW and other medical schools
