Children's National launches new initiative to "Make March Matter" for kids' health in greater D.C. area
More than 150 local businesses are rallying together for Children's National in its inaugural effort to raise $1 million for life-saving pediatric care
WASHINGTON – Today, Children’s National Health System launched Make March Matter, a month-long campaign designed to bring the Greater Washington, D.C. community together in support of children’s health. More than 150 local businesses have joined for the inaugural year of this initiative to raise $1 million in support of critical, life-saving care for children.
“At Children’s National, we are dedicated to providing exceptional healthcare to all children,” said DeAnn Marshall, MHA, president of the Children’s Hospital Foundation. “This work wouldn’t be possible without the support of our community, and we are thrilled to engage local businesses in this effort to Make March Matter for our patients—present and future.”
Each of the participating businesses has developed a special way to contribute to the Make March Matter campaign’s collective impact—including selling specific items with proceeds supporting Children’s National patients, devoting a portion of overall sales for a designated time period, or the creation of other unique fundraising campaigns to galvanize their employees and customers.
By visiting, shopping or dining with a business supporting #MakeMarchMatterDC, individuals can activate donations to support the care of patients at Children’s National. Local businesses participating in this year’s Make March Matter campaign include:
- Atlanta Coast Mortgage
- Colonial Parking
- Domino's
- Hoops Madness
- iHeartMedia
- Marriott International, Inc.
- Moby Dick House of Kabob
- Panda Express

“We are thrilled to have the support of more than 150 business partners for our inaugural campaign,” Marshall said. “Their participation means the world to our patients and their families, as well as our hospital staff. We are immensely grateful for their dedication to the Children’s National community and for their help to ensure that all children have access to the quality healthcare they deserve.”
