Children’s National Hospital is home to the only specialized pediatric cardiac intensive care unit (ICU) in the greater Washington, D.C., area. Physicians in the Cardiac ICU are trained in multiple specialties including pediatrics, critical care, cardiology and anesthesiology. Many are board-certified in several or all of these specialties.
