Partnering with specialists at other hospital neonatal intensive care units in Maryland and Virginia, Children's National experts are able to extend the best care possible to newborns beyond our main campus.

Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, Va.
Children’s National manages the care of patients in the NICU at Mary Washington Hospital (MWH), a Level III unit, servicing the Fredericksburg, Va., area. The program consists of full-time, board-certified neonatologists and neonatal nurse practitioners. This program provides care for sick newborns in the Fredericksburg, Va., region, connecting them with pediatric subspecialty services at Children’s, and provides collaborative research opportunities between MWH and Children’s clinical research teams.

Reston Hospital Center in Reston, Va.
As part of an ongoing partnership, Children’s National cares for patients in the neonatal intensive care unit at Reston Hospital Center, which serves the Reston, Va., area. The Children’s program consists of neonatologists, as well as hospitalists, in the nursery and in the delivery room providing 24-hour coverage, consultations, assessments and care to newborns. This program provides state-of-the-art care for sick newborns, connects this location to pediatric subspecialty services at Children’s and provides collaborative research opportunities between Reston Hospital Center and Children’s clinical research teams.

Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge, Va.
Children’s National manages care of patients in the special care nursery at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center, a Level II NICU that provides expert care for sick newborns in the Woodbridge, Va., area. The team at Sentara consists of full-time, board-certified neonatologists and neonatal nurse practitioners. The program allows neonatal patients in this area to have access to pediatric subspecialty expertise and services available at the Sheikh Zayed Campus.

Stone Springs Hospital Center in Dulles, Va.
As part of an ongoing partnership, Children’s National Hospital cares for patients in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at Stone Springs Hospital Center, which serves the Loudoun County, Va., area. The Children’s National program consists of neonatologists, as well as hospitalists, in the nursery and in the delivery room providing 24-hour coverage, consultations, assessments and care to newborns. This program provides state-of-the-art care for sick newborns, connects this location to pediatric sub-specialty services at Children’s National and provides collaborative research opportunities between Stone Springs Hospital Center and Children’s National clinical research teams.
TidalHealth in Salisbury, Md.
Children's National manages care of patients in the Special Care Nursery at TidalHealth, a Level IIA/B NICU. This program focuses on care of the newborn in a smaller regional program, while bringing expanded neonatal and pediatric care to the community through telehealth connections with Children’s subspecialists. The neonatal team at TidalHealth consists of full-time neonatologists and physician extenders combined with access to cardiologists through telehealth. A developmental follow-up clinic monitors graduates of the NICU.

Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, Va.
Children’s National manages the care of patients in the neonatal intensive care unit at Virginia Hospital Center, a Level III NICU in Arlington, Va., servicing Northern Virginia. The program consists of full-time, board-certified neonatologists, along with a medical director, neonatal nurse practitioners and physician assistants. The partnership between VHC and Children’s allows neonatal patients in Northern Virginia to have access to pediatric subspecialty services at Children’s, and provides collaborative research opportunities between the clinical research teams.
