The Thyroid Nodule and Thyroid Cancer Clinic at Children's National offers comprehensive care to children and adolescents with thyroid nodules, as well as thyroid cancer. Our clinic is coordinated by the Division of Endocrinology and Diabetes, along with a group of dedicated multi-specialty providers that create a high quality, individualized evaluation and care plan for your child and family following American Thyroid Association guidelines.

Your child's doctor may refer your son or daughter to our clinic when:
- A thyroid nodule is identified
- Thyroid cancer has been confirmed by fine-needle aspiration cytology performed at an outside facility
- Continued management of thyroid nodules or thyroid cancer is necessary

Our team will review any existing labs or imaging, make recommendations and coordinate any additional tests that may be needed, provide a comprehensive treatment plan and coordinate your child's related care based on our evaluation.
If your child has completed a thyroid sonogram, we recommend that you bring a copy of the sonogram on a CD and/or any related laboratory tests for our team to review when your child comes for an evaluation. However, we do not require that lab tests be completed for patients to be seen. We also work with adult providers in area hospitals which allows for a smooth transition to adult care.
