Food Allergies
A food allergy (FA) is defined as an adverse health effect arising from a specific immune response that occurs reproducibly on exposure to a given food. Several specific clinical syndromes may occur as a result of FA and these include IgE mediated food-induced anaphylaxis/immediate hypersensitivity reactions, food protein-induced allergic proctocolitis (AP) and food protein-induced enterocolitis syndrome (FPIES).
