Mobile Health
At Children’s National Hospital, improving health outcomes for children in the community is a key part of our mission. Our partnership with the United Health Foundation enables us to provide free, comprehensive healthcare to children from birth to age 21 in our mobile health program. The Children’s Health Project is part of a nationwide program supported by the Children’s Health Fund, dedicated to improving access for children to quality health services through mobile healthcare. By bringing care to kids in their own community, the program serves over 1,500 children annually.
Medicine on the Move
Our wheelchair-accessible mobile unit visits community organizations and schools throughout Washington, D.C., and Prince George's County, Maryland, including several locations near public housing. The unit is based at the THEARC, one of our primary care centers at Children's National.
Children’s National doctors and healthcare professionals staff our mobile unit, providing medical physicals and check-ups, screenings, treatments, behavioral counseling and more.
